The hiring establishment for this role is a banquet facility located in Jeffersonville, known for hosting exceptional events ranging from corporate meetings and conferences to social gatherings and weddings. The venue prides itself on offering an elegant and professional environment equipped to handle a wide array of event types with an emphasis on both customer satisfaction and operational excellence. Jeffersonville's banquet space stands out as a premier destination for high-quality event hosting, supported by a team committed to meticulous planning, superior service, and community engagement. This establishment consistently aims to create memorable experiences by aligning customer needs with expert event execution and innovative programming.
The role of Banquet Manager in Jeffersonville is pivotal in driving sales at the site level by expertly managing incoming leads, overseeing community outreach efforts, assisting in programming development, and ensuring the seamless execution of events. The Banquet Manager will be responsible for vetting all leads using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and responding promptly to inquiries within one business day, ensuring every potential client receives timely and professional attention. Additionally, staying updated on CRM tasks and maintaining up-to-date templates are crucial to this position. The manager follows each lead through the contract signing process, assigns follow-up tasks, and coordinates closely with the General Manager, Chef, and marketing team to guarantee successful event outcomes.
A vital part of the job involves establishing and nurturing relationships with community allies such as local chambers of commerce and other organizations, which supports marketing and investment opportunities within the local market. The Banquet Manager conducts proactive community outreach and identifies key events and shows that can increase venue visibility and attract additional business. Working with the marketing department, the manager also contributes to the creation of promotional materials and helps plan on-site programming that drives revenue and highlights the functionality and appeal of the restaurant space.
The position includes direct supervisory responsibilities for the banquet team and event staff, ensuring flawless event execution by managing staff performance and providing guidance during event days. Competencies necessary for success in this role include strong communication skills, cooperative attitude, excellent customer service, job knowledge, people management capabilities, effective planning and organizing, and robust sales abilities. The manager must skillfully handle customer interactions, resolve conflicts, and maintain high satisfaction levels to ensure repeat business.
Qualified candidates are expected to have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, although a bachelor's degree is preferred. Experience in banquet management or a related field, ideally five or more years, is highly valued. Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential, along with a proven ability to forge and maintain community partnerships. Candidates should exhibit strong time management and organizational proficiency and have prior management or leadership experience. Familiarity with MS Office products and Tripleseat software is strongly preferred, and a valid driver's license is required for community outreach activities.
This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary aligned with industry standards. The Banquet Manager will thrive in a dynamic, customer-focused environment where attention to detail, leadership, and a proactive approach to sales and event management are integral to the role's success.
