The role of Banquet Manager is integral to our operations, focusing on delivering exceptional event execution and guest satisfaction. The Banquet Manager will lead the overall organization and management of all banquet events, including pre-event planning, setup, service management, and post-event breakdown. This position requires a detail-oriented and highly organized individual who thrives in a dynamic environment. The Banquet Manager serves as the primary on-site contact for event clients, ensuring that every component aligns with the client’s vision and our high service standards.
Key responsibilities include coordinating seamlessly with Sales and Culinary teams to confirm event details, determining staffing needs, and overseeing the physical arrangement of event spaces to meet specific diagrams. The manager will supervise food and beverage service flow, ensure compliance with food safety regulations, and maintain high-quality guest experiences throughout each event. Additionally, they will be responsible for managing team schedules, approving timecards, handling service charge distributions, and conducting inventory checks to maintain appropriate stock levels.
This position demands strong leadership capabilities as the Banquet Manager will recruit, train, coach, and mentor banquet staff to uphold outstanding service standards. An ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience in banquet or event management, preferably with prior exposure to hotel environments. Educational qualifications preferably include a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, and holders of ServSafe Food Handler certification are highly regarded.
The Banquet Manager should possess excellent interpersonal skills, conflict resolution abilities, and proficient communication skills both verbal and written. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, G-Suite, and an aptitude for quickly mastering hotel catering management systems is essential. Adaptability, integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality are key personal attributes required for this demanding and rewarding role. Flexibility in working schedules including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts is mandatory to meet the fast-paced and varied event calendar. Physical demands of the job include the ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and navigate through all hotel departments smoothly.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality preferred
- minimum 2 years of banquet or event management experience
- experience in a hotel environment preferred
- ServSafe Food Handler certificate preferred

Job Duties
- Attend all BEO meetings to coordinate details of each event with the Sales and Culinary teams including the set-up timing of events and service delivery
- determine the number of banquet team members required to execute each event preparing work schedules based on that determination
- supervise the event set-up to ensure that the tables chairs table settings serving stations and other event equipment are placed according to the diagram
- serve as the on-site contact to answer questions or accommodate any last minute or special requests from the group contact
- oversee the guest flow serving of the food and beverage and clearing of the soiled dishes
- ensure safe food handling
- maintain the quality of food and beverage in the banquet space
- supervise the event breakdown ensuring that the event space is cleaned up all equipment or supplies are returned to the proper areas and that all other side work has been completed
- charge group folios in the PMS system following every event
- verify the accuracy of making adjustments and approving the banquet team's timecards in accordance to payroll deadlines
- distribute service charge payout to the banquet team based on hotel policy and federal state and local laws
- recruit hire train coach and counsel the banquet team ensuring service standards are exceeding expectations
- perform a monthly inventory on all banquet glassware plateware flatware liquor beer wine mixers garnishes and other banquet supplies ordering more as needed
- maintain all banquet equipment and facilities in an organized clean and safe environment
- perform other duties as assigned
