The Banquet Lead role at Oak View Group is a vital position that ensures exceptional teamwork and productivity within a fast-paced event environment. The Banquet Lead is responsible for providing leadership and clear direction at the assigned stand or event, working closely alongside their team to execute flawless food and beverage service operations. In addition to leadership duties, the Banquet Lead enforces strict compliance with food safety and alcohol service regulations, ensuring all workplace safety protocols and company standards are adhered to. They oversee bar, stand, and banquet setup and breakdown, monitor inventory levels throughout events, and promptly address any guest service issues to preserve optimal customer satisfaction. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- 1-2 plus years of experience in fast-paced, high-volume catering or restaurant environment with leadership experience
- Active ServSafe Food Handlers Card and/or Alcohol Awareness Certification
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekdays, weekends, mornings, noons, and evenings on an on-call or event-based schedule
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Excellent communication skills with employees, management, and guests
- Ability to work in fast-paced, team-oriented, event-driven settings
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work weekdays and weekends with availability for some morning, noon, and evening shifts on an on-call event-based schedule
- 1-2 plus years of experience in a fast-paced, high-volume catering or restaurant environment with trainer or leadership experience
- Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Must possess an active ServSafe Food Handlers Card and/or Alcohol Awareness Certification and other required compliance trainings
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with employees, co-workers, management, and guests to facilitate a positive work environment
Job Duties
- Assist captains and supervisors in managing food and beverage functions including banquets and buffets
- Lead small teams of event staff ensuring clear communication and smooth service execution under guidance
- Address client and guest concerns promptly working alongside captains and supervisors to resolve issues
- Review banquet event orders to ensure all details such as food, beverage, seating, and special requests are met
- Monitor adherence to timelines, menu changes, and service instructions
- Execute event setup and breakdown to ensure readiness with minimal supervision
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative work environment across departments
