Banquet Houseman

The role in question is a part-time Banquet Setup position, which plays a vital supporting role in the successful execution of banquet events across Sonesta’s properties. The candidate will perform a variety of routine functions that include setting up and breaking down banquet rooms according to guest specifications, reading banquet event orders to ensure accuracy, and assisting with side work as assigned. This position involves hands-on physical tasks such as moving and operating heavy equipment, handling and storing hotel property properly, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

As part of the banquet setup team, the candidate will be responsible for preparing rooms and equipment for meetings and food functions, cleaning up afterwards, and ensuring that all items and furnishings are safely stored. The individual will work closely with Banquet Managers and Captains to ensure smooth operations and uphold high standards of hospitality. Essential physical capabilities for this role include the ability to push or pull carts weighing between 75 to 100 pounds, lift up to 100 pounds, and perform repetitive motions including bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and reaching. The candidate must also be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods, supporting the fast-paced and dynamic nature of event setups.
