The Executive Banquet Chef role at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino is a prestigious and challenging position, demanding expertise in managing large-scale banquet food operations with precision, creativity, and efficiency. This role requires a dynamic leader who can plan, produce, and execute banquet events that maintain a standard of luxury and quality while adhering to strict cost controls. The Executive Banquet Chef oversees all banquet kitchen operations, including supervising staff, managing food production, and ensuring the seamless execution of events ranging from business conferences and social gatherings to large-scale banquets. This position is pivotal in maintaining the resort’s reputation for excellence by delivering outstanding guest satisfaction through impeccable culinary experiences and exceptional service standards. The Executive Banquet Chef is responsible for implementing quality control procedures, maintaining inventory, scheduling staff, and enforcing health and safety regulations. This role involves both hands-on culinary expertise and strong leadership skills to train and mentor kitchen teams, coordinate with event planners, and contribute to menu development. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous banquet kitchen experience
  • strong English communication skills
  • ability to work under pressure and resolve conflicts
  • physical ability to perform kitchen duties
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • availability to work flexible hours

Job Qualifications

  • ability to remember and promote menu items and recipes
  • ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • effective communication skills verbally and in writing
  • strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • knowledge of sanitation standards
  • experience supervising kitchen staff
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment including slicers, ovens, broilers, grills, and deep fryers
  • ability to handle physical activity throughout shift

Job Duties

  • Assign specific duties to banquet staff for efficient kitchen operation
  • train and supervise kitchen staff in menu item preparation
  • ensure proper receiving, storage, and rotation of food products
  • adhere to procedures for food cost and quality control
  • provide guest satisfaction through outstanding service
  • write recipes, maintain inventory and order supplies
  • schedule staff to maintain cost control
