Job Requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years progressive hotel or related experience or a 4-year college degree with 1 year related experience or a 2-year college degree with 2 or more years related experience
  • Proficiency in Windows, spreadsheets, and word processing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of service standards and food and beverage regulations
  • Ability to work long hours
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Strong communication skills verbal and written
  • Proven ability to listen, clarify, and address concerns

Job Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of progressive experience in hotel or related field or a 4-year college degree with 1 year related experience or a 2-year college degree with 2 or more years related experience
  • Proficient in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • Strong knowledge of service standards and various service types such as French and Russian
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques, health department rules, liquor laws and regulations
  • Ability to work long hours
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of employees and guests
  • Effective listening and problem clarification skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented approach
  • Available to attend all hotel-required meetings and trainings
  • Willingness to participate in Manager On Duty coverage
  • Maintain regular attendance as required by hotel scheduling
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming

Job Duties

  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and employees
  • Oversee all aspects of daily banquet operations
  • Supervise all banquet personnel
  • Respond to guest complaints promptly
  • Work with food and beverage managers to coordinate issues
  • Keep immediate supervisor informed of problems
  • Coordinate and monitor loss prevention in banquet operations
  • Prepare and submit required reports
  • Monitor quality of service in banquets
  • Ensure compliance with liquor laws, health, and sanitation regulations
  • Ensure SOPs compliance in all outlets
  • Conduct staff performance reviews
  • Prepare payroll and tip distribution
  • Conduct departmental and hotel training
  • Coordinate banquet food and beverage requirements
  • Keep kitchen informed of accurate counts
  • Review menu and service with catering managers
  • Maintain updated details on banquet functions
  • Conduct ongoing training for staff
  • Make personal contact with guests for assistance
  • Supervise banquet checks and ensure proper tabulation
  • Requisition liquor and supplies
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety of service areas
  • Oversee banquet set-up assignments
  • Inspect banquet areas regularly
  • Conduct menu classes and line-ups
  • Supervise banquet management and captains
  • Control and maintain service equipment
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
