This role is a full-time, non-management position within the Food and Beverage and Culinary category at The Ritz-Carlton Dallas Las Colinas. As a key member of the kitchen team, the role focuses on the preparation and cooking of food with great attention to quality and presentation according to the "Gold Standards" established by The Ritz-Carlton. These standards guide every associate in delivering excellence daily, promoting an environment where the guest's dining experience is always exceptional. Responsibilities include preparing special meals, managing food portions and distribution, controlling food quality and quantity, and ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the kitchen area. The role also involves communication with kitchen management and food and beverage service staff to coordinate specials and manage inventory efficiently, as well as providing support in staff training and motivation. It requires adherence to safety protocols, maintaining a professional appearance, and fostering positive working relationships within the team to accomplish common goals.

The position is ideal for individuals with vocational or technical education and at least three years of relevant experience in a culinary role. While supervisory experience is not required, the candidate will assist management in various team-related activities and serve as a model employee by upholding standards and company policies. Job Duties

  • Prepare special meals or replace products
  • regulate the temperature of ovens, grills, and broilers
  • remove food from the freezer to thaw in the refrigerator
  • ensure portions, distribution, and food garnishing are appropriate
  • keep records of food
  • control the quality and quantity of food prepared
  • communicate any needed assistance during busy periods
  • inform the chef of surplus food for daily specials
  • notify food and beverage service personnel about rejected products and available specials
  • ensure food quality
  • prepare and cook food following recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists
  • prepare cold dishes
  • assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, advising, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees
