Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Banquet Chef to join our team at Texas A&M Athletics. This full-time position, located at 200 John David Crow, College Station, offers competitive wages and benefits, alongside unique perks such as Instapay through the One @Work app. This role directly reports to the Chef De Cuisine and is essential to delivering memorable dining experiences through meticulous food production and event catering. The Banquet Chef will oversee all production operations related to Athletics and internal events, ensuring that the highest standards in food preparation, presentation, and service are upheld while maintaining strict cost control and adherence to food safety standards.

This role involves planning and directing the food production for varied meal periods, managing inventory and ordering supplies, and supervising and developing the production team. The position operates within a from-scratch kitchen, requiring proficiency in breaking down whole muscle proteins and fish butchery, emphasizing fresh, farm-to-table, seasonal cooking practices. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts, strong leadership capabilities, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role is highly collaborative, working closely with sous chefs, production staff, and other culinary professionals to design menus and coordinate seamless service execution. Job Requirements

  • culinary management or supervisory experience required

  • associate’s degree in culinary arts preferred
  • ServSafe or Department of Health Certification preferred

Job Qualifications

  • five years of related culinary experience including one year at the management level
  • experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, or related food service operations
  • knowledge of food and industry trends focusing on quality, production, sanitation, safety, food cost controls, and presentation
  • ability to set up and distribute production sheets
  • supervisory, leadership, training, management, and coaching skills
  • ServSafe or Department of Health Certification preferred
  • computer skills with knowledge of MS Office products including Excel
  • associate’s degree in culinary arts preferred
  • farm to table and seasonal cooking mentality preferred
