One of the esteemed properties under Pyramid Global Hospitality is the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa, nestled high in the San Bernardino Mountains at an elevation of 5,174 feet. Surrounded by Ponderosa Pines and providing exclusive access to a 780-acre reservoir, the resort is an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts. It offers a broad variety of year-round activities including hiking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, water skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and ziplining. The resort also features amenities such as a bar and restaurant, spa and wellness center, outdoor pool and lake beach, and more than 23,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Banquet Captain to join our dynamic team at Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa. This pivotal role involves leading the setup and preparation of banquet rooms for various functions, overseeing banquet service from food delivery to clearing tables, and supporting the Banquet Manager by supervising banquet food and beverage servers and housemen. As the personal representative of the resort to banquet guests, the Banquet Captain ensures guest satisfaction by coordinating room setup, managing food and beverage services, and maximizing revenue opportunities through exceptional service. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • two to four years of relevant banquet or food service experience
  • knowledge of food and beverage service protocols
  • ability to manage and direct a team
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • capacity to handle high-volume events
  • willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • physical ability to perform duties including standing and lifting

Job Qualifications

  • Two to four years of food service experience, preferably in banquet service
  • experience in a 4-star or 5-star venue with synchronized service
  • knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • passion for creating exceptional guest experiences

Job Duties

  • Set up for functions including draping tables, setting silverware, folding napkins, preparing drinks, and placing table centerpieces
  • serve food and beverages by picking up from the back hall, carrying trays to function locations, serving guests, and clearing tables
  • break down banquet rooms including bussing tables, putting away dirty linens and centerpieces, and vacuuming
  • clean and organize back hall and storerooms
  • set up AM and PM break stations with coffee, tea, snacks, and beverages
  • assist with event room setup according to meal periods and table needs
  • perform food and beverage preparation duties such as preparing condiments, brewing coffee, and ensuring stocked workstations
  • provide warm and professional guest welcomes and farewells, explain menu items and cooking methods, and accommodate special guest requests and dietary needs
  • monitor assigned tables for customer satisfaction and quality service
  • address guest issues promptly
  • maintain safety standards throughout service areas
  • support other events and restaurant staff as needed
