Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in hospitality or related field preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including long shifts
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Customer service oriented with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Ability to work collaboratively with management and staff
  • Must comply with all state liquor laws
  • Maintain personal grooming and wear proper uniform

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent or experience in a related field preferred
  • College coursework in a related field helpful
  • Previous supervisory responsibility preferred
  • Flexible and able to work long hours
  • Capable of exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • Ability to stand for entire shifts

Job Duties

  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees
  • Inspect the set-up of meeting and banquet functions, checking against the Banquet Event Order
  • Supervise and assist with the set-up of assigned catered functions, ensuring hotel standards are met and advance preparation for efficient service
  • Act as liaison between Sales/Catering Manager and in-house meeting or banquet contact
  • Respond to guest needs promptly and communicate issues to Banquet Manager or Food & Beverage Manager
  • Assist with Banquet Work Schedule creation and completion of Banquet Wage Progress Reports
  • Assist in service of functions as required
  • Requisition liquor for banquet bars and maintain proper control over banquet beverage service
  • Supervise and assist with breakdown after functions ensuring proper storage of equipment and supplies
  • Inspect sanitation of function spaces and storage areas
  • Follow all state liquor laws
  • Be familiar with banquet menus and prices
  • Supervise banquet staff as directed
  • Hold pre-function meetings, check staffing and menus prior to events
  • Assign side-work duties and stations to servers
  • Supervise service of station or banquet room
  • Prepare banquet checks and obtain guest signatures
  • Monitor ongoing functions during shift
  • Supervise breakdown and cleanup of functions
  • Verify server paperwork post event
  • Prepare accurate captains reports
  • Assist with hiring and training of banquet staff
  • Assist with audio/visual setup when necessary
  • Handle lost and found according to standards
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
