The Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center in College Station, Texas, proudly managed by Pyramid Global Hospitality, embodies the spirit of Aggieland combined with the unique Howdy Hospitality experience. This property features 250 guest rooms, 23 flexible meeting rooms, and over 35,000 square feet of versatile meeting space, making it a hub for diverse guests and events. As a Banquet Captain at this premier location, employees play a pivotal role in supervising and executing banquet functions, ensuring that guests enjoy exceptional service and memorable experiences. This full-time position, offering competitive compensation between $18 and $20 per hour plus gratuities, is centered on leadership, organization, and top-notch customer service. Employees are expected to work varied shifts depending on event schedules, including significant local events such as Texas A&M football game days and ceremonies. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum five years banquet or catering experience
- minimum two years leadership experience
- excellent customer service abilities
- robust knowledge of banquet and food service standards
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- organized and detail-oriented
- basic proficiency in computer use

Job Duties
- Supervise and participate in the setup, preparation, service, and tear down of banquet functions
- provide training to staff
- ensure function starts on time and meets client needs
- respond quickly to guest requests
- ensure all safety procedures are followed
- conduct pre-event meetings
- interact with guests, event coordinators, and other departments
- evaluate and provide corrective action to team members
- fill out necessary paperwork for functions
- assist in pre-shift and huddle meetings
- enforce high grooming and hygiene standards among banquet staff
- assist in maintenance and cleaning schedules for banquet equipment
- ensure excellent guest experience by going above and beyond
- close all banquet checks at the end of functions
- manage department service standards, POS station, schedules, and labor/beverage costs
- attend meetings related to events
- maintain and update banquet event orders and function sheets
- check banquet rooms and kitchen areas for cleanliness and proper setup
