With a family-oriented social setting, the club features several prestigious dining outlets such as the Magnolia Grille offering fine dining, Main Bar with upscale modern cuisine, 19th Hole for casual dining, Pool & Cabana with al fresco dining, and Curbside services for convenience. The club boasts extensive banquet spaces including a grand 7,000 square foot ballroom accommodating up to 450 guests, a 1,000 square foot Plantation Room, the 1,050 square foot Rosewood, a poolside 1,000 square foot Party Room, and outdoor patios and verandas. Additionally, the club's golf facilities include a newly renovated 18-hole championship golf course that averages 20,000 rounds annually, a fully stocked Golf Pro Shop and club repair shop, an 1,800 square foot practice putting green, a short game performance area, a two-bay teaching facility with state-of-the-art fitting systems, and a driving range with extra chipping areas. The club also offers a thriving tennis program, fitness center, and aquatics amenities, making it a comprehensive private club experience for the whole family.
The Banquet Captain position at Laredo Country Club is a key leadership role within the banquet operations team responsible for ensuring exceptional service delivery and a memorable experience for members and guests during events. This role includes directing banquet staff throughout the meal service, assigning tasks, training new members of the team, and holding meetings to provide updates on service protocols or policy changes. The Banquet Captain supervises the setup of banquet events, manages service supplies, and is responsible for ensuring compliance with sanitary regulations and safe food handling practices. The captain serves as a visible and approachable presence to clients before, during, and after events, addressing any questions or concerns promptly, and maintaining a polished and professional environment.
This role requires active collaboration with the Director of Catering and the banquet and kitchen leadership teams to review event details, menu pricing, and to ensure smooth coordination for events. The Banquet Captain oversees the clearing and cleaning of venues, restocking equipment, and handles employee or client issues with diplomacy and efficiency. The captain also plays a critical role in ensuring the club passes health department audits by training staff on sanitation and safety guidelines. Additionally, this leadership position can require filling in for staff as needed during urgent situations and participating in staff and management meetings. With a focus on cost management, service excellence, and upholding the club's mission and core values such as loyalty, collaboration, and professionalism, the Banquet Captain is essential to creating "Our Family's Second Home" for members and their guests.
Candidates for this position should expect a dynamic and rewarding work environment with opportunities to lead a committed team, interact directly with valued members, and contribute to the club's ongoing reputation for high-quality service and hospitality. The employment type is a position requiring availability during day shifts, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties as needed. The position offers opportunities for performance bonuses and paid time off, alongside benefits such as uniforms provided by the club. Individuals passionate about hospitality leadership, with strong organizational and communication skills, and a dedication to delivering an exceptional private club experience will find this role fulfilling and impactful.
