This particular position is for a Bartender-Banquet role, which is an on-call employment opportunity within the casino. Being on-call means that the team member will work on an as-needed basis, with no fixed schedule, responding to business demands and attending at least two events every thirty days. This flexible employment type allows the casino to efficiently manage staffing levels during high-volume banquet and catering events while providing employees with varied work experiences.

The Bartender-Banquet is responsible for mixing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at cash and hosted bars during banquet events. The role requires setting up the banquet bar appropriately, ensuring it is fully stocked with necessary supplies, and maintaining accurate inventory and consumption records throughout the event. The bartender also manages the cash bar bank according to established procedures, policies, and rules. This position is crucial for delivering outstanding beverage service and contributing to the overall success of banquet functions hosted by the casino.

In addition to technical bartending skills such as mixology, beer, and wine knowledge, the Bartender-Banquet must exhibit excellent guest service and communication abilities. The role demands multitasking capabilities in a fast-paced environment, adherence to health and safety standards, and proficiency with POS systems, including the BERG liquor dispensing system.

Job Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older
Three years of bartending experience required
Completion of Bartending School or equivalent training and two years bartending experience may be considered in lieu of the three-year experience requirement
One year of banquet bartending experience required
At least two years experience within a high-volume Banquet/Catering operation, with one year of fine dining service
Obtain and maintain a valid WA State Health Card/Food Handlers Permit
Obtain and maintain a valid MAST certification
Strong guest service and problem-solving skills
Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise, smoke, and temperature levels
Ability to secure and maintain Spokane Tribe Gaming License

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
Three years of bartending experience required
Completion of Bartending School or equivalent training may be considered in lieu of experience
One year of banquet bartending experience required
At least two years experience in a high-volume Banquet/Catering operation, with one year of fine dining service
Obtain and maintain a valid WA State Health Card/Food Handlers Permit
Obtain and maintain a valid MAST certification

Ability to tolerate areas containing varying noise, smoke, and temperature levels
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse, read, write, and read English fluently
Knowledge of health and safety standards and regulations

Job Duties

Set up bars and accessories as directed by BEO and Banquet Captain
Serve liquor, beer, soda, juice and mixed drinks with standard garnishments
Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
Utilize POS system proficiently
Accept payment for guest's orders when applicable
Maintain accurate consumption sheets and other related paperwork
Balance cash receipts and process bank with appropriate standard operating procedures
Comply with all inventory control measures
Break down the bar and store supplies at the end of the function
Maintain a professional appearance at all times
Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area following sanitation standards
Assist with banquet staff duties as directed
Create, maintain, and facilitate a positive work environment
Smile and engage guests and team members with a positive, professional demeanor
