Job Description
The hiring establishment is a prominent casino that offers a vibrant and dynamic environment for both its guests and employees. As a key player in the hospitality and entertainment industry, this casino prides itself on delivering exceptional guest experiences through its diverse range of services, including gaming, dining, and event hosting. Known for its commitment to quality, professionalism, and customer satisfaction, the casino continuously strives to uphold its mission, vision, and values, fostering a culture of respect, teamwork, and excellence.
This particular position is for a Bartender-Banquet role, which is an on-call employment opportunity within the casino. Being on-call means that the team member will work on an as-needed basis, with no fixed schedule, responding to business demands and attending at least two events every thirty days. This flexible employment type allows the casino to efficiently manage staffing levels during high-volume banquet and catering events while providing employees with varied work experiences.
The Bartender-Banquet is responsible for mixing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at cash and hosted bars during banquet events. The role requires setting up the banquet bar appropriately, ensuring it is fully stocked with necessary supplies, and maintaining accurate inventory and consumption records throughout the event. The bartender also manages the cash bar bank according to established procedures, policies, and rules. This position is crucial for delivering outstanding beverage service and contributing to the overall success of banquet functions hosted by the casino.
In addition to technical bartending skills such as mixology, beer, and wine knowledge, the Bartender-Banquet must exhibit excellent guest service and communication abilities. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, maturity, and the capacity to interact positively and enthusiastically with guests, team members, management, and vendors. The role demands multitasking capabilities in a fast-paced environment, adherence to health and safety standards, and proficiency with POS systems, including the BERG liquor dispensing system.
Safety, cleanliness, and organization are fundamental aspects of the work environment, aligning with sanitation standards. The Bartender-Banquet supports and practices the casino's mission, vision, and values, contributing to a positive work culture and guest experience. This role also includes assisting with general banquet staff duties as needed and requires maintaining a professional appearance at all times. Regulatory compliance is essential; candidates must be at least 21 years old, possess or be able to obtain necessary certifications such as the Washington State Health Card/Food Handlers Permit and MAST certification, and secure a Spokane Tribe Gaming License.
Overall, this role offers a rewarding opportunity for experienced bartenders who enjoy working in a dynamic banquet and catering environment within a reputable casino. It provides flexibility, the chance to engage with a diverse clientele, and the opportunity to be part of a professional team dedicated to exceptional guest service and operational excellence.
