Job Description

This exciting opportunity invites candidates to join the dynamic Events team as a Banquet Bartender on an on-call basis. The role is integral to ensuring that banquet events at the resort run smoothly and guests receive outstanding service. The Banquet Bartender is primarily responsible for serving food and beverages, including mixing, garnishing, and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with established recipes. The position involves setting up the bar area for events, maintaining cleanliness and safety, and processing guest payments accurately. This role requires previous bartending experience and a South Carolina ServSafe Alcohol Certification or the ability to obtain one upon hire.

The Banquet Bartender will contribute to an exceptional guest experience by greeting guests warmly, taking orders efficiently, refilling beverages and stations as necessary, and relaying critical information such as allergies or special requests to the appropriate personnel. This role demands a flexible work schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays to support the resort's event calendar. Beyond the essential duties, the position plays a part in upholding legal compliance regarding alcohol service and contributes to maintaining the elegant and professional atmosphere of Wild Dunes Resort throughout all banquet events.

Job Requirements

  • must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions including rain, wind, snow, and heat
  • must be able to repetitively lift, push, pull, and carry up to 15 lbs, frequently up to 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 75 lbs
  • must be able to twist, bend and squat frequently
  • kneel or crawl occasionally
  • climb stairs frequently
  • must be able to perform repetitive hand and arm movements, pushing and pulling and simple grasping frequently
  • squeezing, overhead reaching and fine manipulation occasionally
  • must have a valid driver’s license

Job Qualifications

  • previous bartending experience
  • south carolina servsafe alcohol certification or ability to obtain upon hire

Job Duties

  • mix,garnish,and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and specialty drinks in accordance with established recipes
  • set up the bar area for banquet events including stocking liquor, glassware, utensils, and garnishes
  • regularly check and maintain bar equipment such as blenders, shakers, and refrigeration
  • adhere to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale and service of alcohol
  • follow proper sanitation and ensure the bar is always free from safety hazards
  • process guest payments accurately, handle cash and credit card transactions, and provide change as necessary
  • serve guests promptly and responsibly, ensuring compliance with legal drinking age service guidelines
