Known for its commitment to inclusivity, growth, and employee development, Accor welcomes individuals to bring their authentic selves to work while aligning with the company's mission to innovate and elevate the guest experience consistently. As a hospitality giant, Accor offers opportunities that support career advancement and personal enrichment, supporting employees in writing their own professional stories and fostering an environment where hospitality is reimagined every day.
Located within this esteemed hospitality group, the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa stands as an elegant Spanish mission-style hotel situated in the heart of California’s Wine Country. This inn features luxurious accommodations and a commitment to delivering unparalleled service to its guests. The hospitality culture here centers on teamwork, dedication, and a passion for delivering memorable guest experiences, fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.
The role of Banquet Bar Captain at Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing all bar operations during catered events, functions, and banquets. This position requires a highly organized, professional individual with a strong background in bartending within luxury event spaces. The Banquet Bar Captain ensures that beverage services align precisely with event timelines, client expectations, and brand standards. By leading the bar staff on event days and collaborating closely with Banquet Captains, Sales teams, and Event Managers, this role maintains service excellence throughout the event lifecycle—from setup and service execution to breakdown.
In this supervisory capacity, the Banquet Bar Captain will manage bar setups, stock inventories, and staffing assignments to ensure smooth operations. This includes enforcing standardized drink recipes, monitoring inventory waste, and maintaining compliance with all alcohol service laws and venue policies. This role also involves proactive communication with colleagues in banquet and culinary teams as well as conducting training sessions that enhance team knowledge and performance. The Banquet Bar Captain plays a critical role in championing a positive work environment and ensuring that responsible alcohol service practices are upheld at all times.
Compensation for this hourly position starts at $21.50 per hour, reflecting the expertise and leadership required. Employee benefits include a discount card for accommodations at Accor properties worldwide, commissions on service, paid time off including vacation and sick leave, eligibility for medical, dental, and vision plans, complimentary meals during shifts, and free parking. Professional development opportunities allow for career growth within the property and across Accor’s global network, making this an ideal position for someone passionate about hospitality and leadership in luxury event service.
