The Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) role at Fred Meyer is pivotal in maintaining the high standards for which the company is known. Job Duties

  • Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
  • Offer product samples to customers to promote new items
  • Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
  • Provide customers with fresh products with correct portion sizes
  • Recommend bakery or deli items to customers
  • Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines
  • Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Package, label, and inventory ingredients accurately
  • Check product quality and freshness
  • Review sell-by dates and take action
  • Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers with temperature logs
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies
  • Locate products in store upon customer request
  • Stay current on seasonal and special advertisements
  • Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries
  • Ensure adherence to food safety regulations
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs
  • Notify management of accidents
  • Work cooperatively in high-paced environment
  • Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
