Job Duties
- Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
- Offer product samples to customers to help discover new items
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- Recommend deli or bakery items to customers
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines
- Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Package, label, and inventory merchandise
- Check product quality and review sell by dates
- Use kitchen equipment including stove, fryer, steamer, and robot coupe
- Stock and inventory department merchandise
- Report ordering and shipping discrepancies to manager
- Locate products for customers within store layout
- Stay current with seasonal and special ads
- Maintain knowledge of department products to answer questions
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and maintain logs
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
- Adhere to all food safety regulations
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Perform preventive maintenance and report equipment repair needs
