The role of Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) at Ralphs centers on delivering outstanding customer experiences through exceptional service and product knowledge. The clerk is responsible for preparing bakery and deli items according to customer requests, using proper equipment, and ensuring food safety standards are met at all times. Job Duties
- Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- Recommend deli or bakery items to meet customer needs
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines
- Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- Check product quality and review "sell by" dates
- Use kitchen equipment safely including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, and robot coupe
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies
- Locate products for customers
- Stay current with seasonal and special ads
- Maintain product knowledge to respond to customer questions and make suggestions
- Monitor inventory and temperature conditions
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
