Job Duties

  • Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items
  • Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
  • Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes
  • Recommend deli or bakery items to customers
  • Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines
  • Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes
  • Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
  • Check product quality and review sell-by dates
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
  • Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies
  • Locate products to assist customers
  • Stay current with promotions and ads
  • Maintain product knowledge and respond to customer inquiries
  • Monitor inventory and ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers
  • Promote a respectful work environment
  • Provide a welcoming atmosphere for customers
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • Conduct preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment
