Job Duties
- Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes
- Recommend deli or bakery items to customers
- Use bakery equipment according to company guidelines
- Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions
- Measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Package, label and inventory ingredients
- Check product quality and review sell by dates
- Use kitchen equipment including stove, fryer, steamer and slicer
- Label, stock and inventory merchandise
- Report ordering and shipping discrepancies
- Locate products as requested by customers
- Stay current with seasonal and special ads
- Maintain product knowledge and respond to customer questions
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions
- Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions
- Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs
- Report accidents to management
