The role of a Bakery Associate at Pick 'N Save focuses on delivering an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. This position is instrumental in establishing and maintaining a safe and clean environment within the bakery that encourages customers to return. The Bakery Associate works closely with the department manager to help achieve sales and profit goals, ensuring all quality assurance standards remain consistent. Candidates embracing the Customer 1st strategy are encouraged to foster the same commitment among fellow associates to maintain excellent customer service. Responsibilities include adhering to health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness in work areas, producing baked goods to meet daily goals, and handling customer inquiries about products. The Bakery Associate uses specialized bakery equipment such as refrigerators, ovens, slicers, and computerized scales in line with company guidelines. This position also involves tasks like preparing special customer orders, packaging and labeling merchandise, managing inventories, and supporting receiving and unloading of supplies. The ideal candidate will be adaptable to stressful situations, have effective communication skills, and hold or be able to obtain a current food handler's permit. The role requires physical capability to meet job demands and is available to candidates 18 years or older. Job Requirements

  • Current food handlers permit once employed
  • must be able to meet the minimum physical demands of the position
  • must be 18 or older

  • second language speaking, reading and/or writing
  • ability to handle stressful situations

  • knowledge of basic math

Job Duties

  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store
  • adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations
  • maintain cleanliness of counter, cases and coolers on a continuous basis
  • observe scheduled shift operating hours
  • meet the day's production goals for baked goods
  • maintain a clean and sanitized work area
  • plan and organize a development plan, including setting goals, prioritizing tasks, and developing appropriate time lines
