The role available is within the Bakery team at Whole Foods Market, focused on supporting daily operations that ensure a seamless customer experience and maintain the bakery’s high-quality standards. This position entails receiving and preparing bakery products, maintaining fresh and appealing displays, and assisting customers with their needs. As part of the retail team, employees are expected to engage in stock management, product rotation, and maintaining cleanliness and safety within the bakery area. This is an hourly position with a wage range of $18.00 to $25.40, commensurate with experience. Job Requirements

  • No prior retail experience required
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
  • Ability to use hands for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Must be able to perform motions including bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • May require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Ensure a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked by front-facing, checking codes, rotating and removing out-of-date products
  • Stock and clean shelves, bins, and display areas
  • Monitor and prevent spoilage, communicate waste to buyers, team leaders, and shift supervisors
  • Maintain back stock in good order
  • Assist with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing
  • Assist with periodic inventory checks
  • Provide excellent customer service, address customers' needs timely and effectively, and model suggestive selling techniques
  • Maximize sales potential through effective prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • Follow and ensure compliance with procedures including weights and measures, health, sanitation, and safe work practices
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment and ensure equipment maintenance according to company standards
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • Report safety hazards and violations immediately
  • Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership
