The role available is within the Bakery team, where individuals will provide crucial support in receiving and preparing bakery products, maintaining attractive and well-stocked displays, and delivering excellent customer service in alignment with Whole Foods Market standards. The position involves handling deliveries, stocking shelves, and ensuring that all bakery items meet quality and freshness requirements. Team Members in this role are expected to operate within a strong framework of Standard Operating Procedures to maintain high standards in food safety, cleanliness, and customer interaction. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • able to stand or walk for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour shift
  • hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • physical motions including bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • ability to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • able to work in wet and dry conditions
  • able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Ensure a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked through front-facing, checking codes, rotating and removing out-of-date products
  • stock and clean shelves, bins, and display areas
  • monitor and prevent spoilage and communicate waste to buyers, Team Leaders, and shift supervisor
  • maintain back stock in good order
  • assist with sampling program by keeping sample areas full, clean, and appealing
  • assist with periodic inventory checks
  • arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work, work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings
  • provide excellent customer service, address customer needs timely and effectively and model suggestive selling techniques
  • maximize sales potential through effective prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • follow and comply with established procedures including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment and equipment according to Whole Foods Market cleanliness and safety standards
  • perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned and ensure accuracy of signs and pricing
  • immediately report safety hazards and violations
  • perform other duties as assigned by store, regional or national leadership
