This role involves hands-on work in baking and cake decorating, ensuring the presentation and quality of artisan breads, cakes, cookies, pies, and other pastries meet the highest standards. The work environment is fast-paced, dynamic, and requires a strong work ethic and a passion for natural foods. Team members are expected to provide excellent customer service, work collaboratively with colleagues, and participate actively on the store floor to meet customer needs and company goals.

The position requires adherence to health, safety, and operational procedures, including compliance with Weights and Measures regulations and store cleanliness standards. Candidates who successfully complete their first 90 days in eligible roles may qualify for a base pay increase, further rewarding commitment and performance. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • standing or walking 6-8 hours per 8-hour workday
  • ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • exposure to temperatures less than 32 degrees Fahrenheit, 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit, and greater than 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • motions include bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
  • no prior retail experience required

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of artisan breads and pastries, including cake decorating

Job Duties

  • Produces quality breads and pastries
  • produces doughs, mixes, cakes, cookies, breakfast pastries, pies, and bars
  • performs baking, cooling, wrapping, and labeling of products
  • stocks dry products
  • develops new recipes and production techniques to ensure seasonal variance and high productivity
  • trains production personnel to the highest standards in industry
  • performs production planning and forecasting for special events and holidays
