The Bakery Manager role at H-E-B plays a crucial part within this dynamic setup. As a Bakery Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Bakery department. Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of leadership experience
  • Certified Bakery Expert or equivalent
  • School of Retail Management (SORM) or equivalent
  • Food Safety certification
  • Forklift and power jack training
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Ability to stand and lift 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching overhead and side to side
  • Hand and finger dexterity
  • Safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts
  • Ability to work in cooler and extreme temperature environments
  • Willingness to work extended hours and varying schedules

Job Qualifications

  • Certified Bakery Expert or equivalent
  • School of Retail Management (SORM) training
  • Food Safety certification
  • Forklift and power jack training
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills
  • Analytical, organizational, and planning abilities
  • Ability to adapt to change and manage multiple priorities
  • Computer skills including MS Office and H-E-B systems

Job Duties

  • Use independent judgment making employment-related and business decisions
  • Supervise, coach, train, and evaluate partners
  • Prepare work schedules, order product, control inventory, monitor budget and payroll
  • Develop and execute production plans ensuring correct quantities and quality
  • Monitor showcase production and manage shrink and inventory levels
  • Drive sales by implementing merchandising programs and maintaining product variety
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
