The role of Bakery Assistant Manager at Albertsons is a dynamic and critical position entrusted with assisting in the successful implementation of the Division Bakery Merchandising programs. This role encompasses the pricing, displaying, ordering, and inventory control integral to bakery operations. The candidate will be responsible for the bakery department's overall presentation, cleanliness, and profitability, ensuring a superior customer service model is consistently delivered. This position requires a leader who serves as a positive role model, mentoring bakery employees and contributing to a motivated team environment. Among the key responsibilities are assisting the Bakery Manager in supervising staff including responsibilities like scheduling, training, and duty assignments, as well as ensuring all merchandising programs are properly implemented and standards of department presentation and operation—such as cleanliness, sanitation, inventory control, product rotation, quality, ordering, variety standards, signage, and seasonal decorations—are met. The Bakery Assistant Manager ensures product quality remains high and variety standards are adhered to, additionally sharing responsibility for ordering and inventory control in alignment with division goals.

This role further includes managing production, sales, baking, cake decorating, and the department’s profitability while fulfilling compliance and paperwork requirements as set by the division. Albertsons compensates its associates competitively with starting wages not less than the local minimum wage, and compensation may vary based on experience, location, and qualifications. Job Duties

  • Responsible for superior service goals of the department
  • lead department as a positive role model
  • assist the Bakery Manager in supervising department staff including scheduling, training, and assigning duties
  • implement all merchandising programs
  • ensure standards of department presentation and operations are met including cleanliness, sanitation, inventory control, rotation, quality, ordering, variety standards, signage, and seasonal schematics
  • ensure the department has the highest quality of product available for the customer
  • monitor to ensure variety standards are followed, as well as 100 percent compliance on ad item display
  • shared responsibility for ordering and inventory control to meet division goals
  • assist the Bakery Manager in ensuring paperwork as set by the division is followed
  • responsible for production, sales, baking, cake decorating and profitability of the department
  • perform all other related duties as assigned by management
