Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience
  • Be dependable and reliable
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Show outgoing and friendly behavior and positive attitude
  • Have good communication skills
  • Ability to give and take direction and participate in team environment
  • Be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping and sanitation including cleaning work areas
  • Operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Stand for up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
  • Ability to transfer trays and items up to 40 lbs without mechanical assistance
  • Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • Achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit
  • Possess knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, sales numbers, and financial goals

  • Knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift items up to 40 lbs
  • Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • Achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit
  • Possess working knowledge of personnel and margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals

Job Duties

  • Manage the daily output baking, production, and display of bakery products
  • Supervise and monitor product quality and consistency
  • Track inventory and manage the bakery's budget
  • Evaluate department conditions and operations to identify strengths and areas for improvement
  • Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
  • Responsible for correct ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage
  • Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
  • Manage department inventory, in-stocks, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes
  • Plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit
  • Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and development discussions
  • Make recommendations on merit increases via bi-annual performance reviews
  • Attend and participate in in-store meetings regularly
  • Recruit, hire, and make promotion or transfer decisions in collaboration with Store Manager
  • Exercise independent judgment to address team member concerns
  • Take and document corrective actions including coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination
  • Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity
  • Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members
  • Lead a team that delivers quality products and exceptional customer experience
  • Serve as a Key Carrier or Manager on Duty as needed
