About the Role: The Fresh Market is currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Bakery Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of the bakery department. This full-time position requires a highly motivated individual who will be responsible for directing team members, managing department inventory, maintaining pricing integrity, and ensuring all operational processes are executed with exceptional attention to detail. The Bakery Manager plays a pivotal role in creating a vibrant and efficient bakery environment that consistently delivers outstanding products and customer experiences. This role demands a passion for excellence, organizational skills, and the ability to manage a fast-paced setting with efficiency and effectiveness. Key responsibilities include greeting guests and assisting them proactively, making product recommendations, handling bakery specialty items such as breads and pastries, managing order guides, reducing shrink and damage, and ensuring proper stocking and merchandising according to The Fresh Market’s standards.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of management experience in grocery retail, restaurant, baking, or culinary fields and should possess strong knowledge of merchandising planograms, layouts, and department schematics. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and the ability to train and motivate team members both on-the-job and through an internal training platform are essential components of the role. - Three years of management experience in grocery retail, restaurant, baking, or culinary fields
- Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics for merchandising
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Job Duties
- Greet guests and proactively assist them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely service
- Make recommendations and accommodate guest requests
- Manage order guides, ordering deadlines, and reduce shrink and damage
- Properly receive and stock goods following rotation standards
- Handle, slice, and prepare specialty breads, pastry items, and Convenient Meal Solutions
- Direct teams to handle, properly receive, stock, and merchandise goods according to The Fresh Market standards
- Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members both on-the-job and through internal training platforms to ensure excellent guest service in a safe manner
