Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • have a minimum of 2 years’ retail grocery experience
  • be dependable and reliable
  • ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • stand for up to 3 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift
  • able to lift and transfer trays up to 5 lbs and items up to 40 lbs without mechanical assistance
  • operate bakery equipment and tools
  • communicate effectively
  • adhere to health and safety regulations
  • obtain and maintain Food Handlers permit
  • have basic math skills to manage reports and financial goals

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • possess good communication skills
  • have ability to give and take direction in a team environment
  • be dependable and reliable
  • demonstrate outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
  • be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department
  • operate and use bakery tools and equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • have knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
  • adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit
  • possess a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals

Job Duties

  • Manage the daily output baking, production, and display of bakery products
  • supervise and monitor product quality and consistency, track inventory, and manage the bakery's budget
  • evaluate department conditions and operations to determine strengths and areas for improvement
  • develop improved practices and procedures
  • ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
  • responsible for correct ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage
  • execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
  • manage department inventory, in-stocks, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to Sprouts standards
  • plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit
  • engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions
  • make recommendations on merit increases via the bi-annual performance review process
  • attend and participate in in-store meetings
  • recruit, hire, and make promotion or transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager
  • exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns
  • document corrective actions including coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination
  • create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency
  • communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members
  • lead a team to deliver high quality products, superior customer service, and great customer experience
  • serve as a Key Carrier and/or act as Manager on Duty as needed
