Job Duties
- Provide superior customer service
- Take orders from customers by telephone or in person
- Assist customers with product selections and questions
- Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product daily
- Slice, package, label, rotate, and cull products for quality
- Assist in technical areas such as set-up and clean-up
- Use suggestive selling techniques to build sales
- Clean and sanitize display cases
- Operate and maintain equipment properly
- Comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- Follow department and store operating procedures
- Perform additional department-specific tasks such as recording production and shrink in bakery
- Use ordering systems and perform inventory management in deli
- Serve and educate customers in prepared foods
- Package condiments and assist chefs in food prep
