Job Description

H-E-B is a leading American supermarket chain headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. Known for its rich history, community focus, and commitment to quality, H-E-B operates more than 400 stores across Texas and northern Mexico. The company is celebrated for its innovative approach to retail and its deep involvement in the communities it serves, making it a beloved and trusted brand among customers. H-E-B emphasizes a partner-owned culture, where the employees are referred to as "Partners" who actively drive the success and growth of the company. This business model fosters a collaborative and dedicated work environment where everyone has a stake in the company’s achievements.

H-E-B is currently seeking a motivated and energetic Bakery Manager to join their team. This full-time managerial role is centered around providing exceptional customer service and managing the overall operations of the Bakery department. The Bakery Manager will be responsible for leading a team of Partners to ensure the bakery runs smoothly and efficiently. Duties include supervision, production planning, inventory control, merchandising, and maintaining food safety standards. H-E-B values a strong commitment to excellence and offers the opportunity for Partners to become owners in the company, reinforcing the importance of dedication, quality, and customer satisfaction.

The Bakery Manager is a key leadership position that requires a combination of business acumen, people skills, and passion for results. The ideal candidate will have a certified bakery background along with experience in retail management training such as H-E-B’s School of Retail Management (SORM). Managing the department budget and payroll, enforcing compliance with standard operating procedures, and maintaining a focus on reducing shrink and maximizing sales volume are critical aspects of the role.

In addition to managing daily operations, the Bakery Manager will participate in staff training and development, helping Partners build their skills and knowledge through coaching and evaluation. The role also calls for adherence to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines set by federal, state, and company policies. To thrive in this position, the candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively under the dynamic and fast-paced environment typical of retail food operations.

Overall, the Bakery Manager at H-E-B plays a significant role in delivering quality baked goods to customers while fostering a positive team environment and driving the company’s retail success. This role offers a rewarding career path, comprehensive training, and the opportunity to be part of a company that truly puts people first, both Partners and customers alike.
