The Bakery Team Leader role at Whole Foods Market is a key supervisory position focused on leading the bakery team to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain the highest standards of product presentation and safety. In this role, you will assist with scheduling and supervise Team Members in the bakery department while ensuring the smooth daily operations of bakery, coffee, and juice displays. Job Requirements
- 12+ months retail experience
- must be able to lift 50 pounds
- able to stand and walk 6-8 hours per day
- hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- ability to work in temperatures under 32°F, between 32-40°F and over 90°F
- ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- able to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to use knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery
- may require use of ladders

Job Duties
- Supervises and delegates tasks to bakery team members
- works with bakery trainer to train team members
- assists in training new team members using checklists and materials
- keeps cases and shelves clean, stocked and properly rotated
- opens and closes department according to procedures
- ensures breaks are given
- communicates team concerns to team leaders
- sets and achieves high standards of retail execution
- fosters positive teamwork and morale
- directs team members to satisfy customer needs
- selects, trains, mentors, motivates, and counsels team members
- provides timely performance evaluations
- consistently communicates and models WFM vision and goals
