Job Requirements

Must be 18 years or older
Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions
Ability to do simple addition and subtraction
Ability to follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
Ability to perform medium physical work including exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally
Visual acuity for clarity of vision at distances between 20 inches and 20 feet, with or without correction
Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions
Willingness to adhere to company dress and personal hygiene standards
Availability to report to work on schedule and maintain punctuality

Job Qualifications

Less than high school education or equivalent experience
Six months or less of similar or related work experience
Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
Ability to do simple addition and subtraction
Ability to write identifying information
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Basic knowledge of sanitation and food safety procedures

Job Duties

Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee's designated department or elsewhere in the store
Makes an effort to learn customers' names and to address them by name whenever possible
Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing products out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, passing along customer suggestions or requests
Reviews the status and appearance of food for freshness
Reviews orders for the day
Takes customer orders at the bakery counter
Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
Understands and practices proper sanitation procedures and ensures work area is always clean and neat
Ensures an adequate supply of food is ready and on hand and follows a production list
Anticipates product needs on a daily basis
Prepares, finishes, and replenishes products as necessary
Pulls product from cooler/freezer to prepare for baking
Checks in product, puts product away, and may review invoices
Runs the department registers and receives payment, makes change, where applicable
Removes trash in a timely manner
Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress
Adheres to company policies and store guidelines
Reports to work when scheduled and on time
