Beyond baking and food preparation, the Bakery Clerk is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety within the bakery department. This includes cleaning equipment, shelves, floors, and workstations, as well as adhering to health and safety regulations including food handling and sanitation standards. The role demands attention to detail when examining product rotation to discard outdated items and verify pricing accuracy. Additional responsibilities include receiving and inspecting deliveries for temperature control, product quality, and accuracy against shipment orders.

Job Requirements

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • possess 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent education and experience
  • be dependable and reliable
  • able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • possess an outgoing and friendly demeanor
  • have good communication skills
  • able to take direction
  • able to perform general housekeeping and sanitation
  • able to operate bakery equipment including knives, scales, wrappers, and pallet jacks
  • able to stand for up to 8 hours per shift
  • able to lift and transfer up to 40 pounds
  • maintain food handler’s permit and adhere to safety and health regulations

Job Duties
