The Bakery Clerk role at Sprouts Farmers Market is a key position within the bakery department that involves the preparation, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising of baked goods such as cookies, bread, and muffins using proven recipes and ingredients. Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Be dependable and reliable with flexible availability
  • Show friendly and positive customer interaction skills
  • Exhibit good communication and teamwork
  • Able to perform sanitation and housekeeping
  • Capable of operating bakery machinery
  • Physically able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations
  • Maintain Food Handlers permit

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess 1-2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrate dependable and reliable behavior with ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers
  • Possess good communication skills and ability to take direction and participate in a team environment
  • Able to perform general housekeeping and sanitation duties
  • Capable of operating bakery equipment safely
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and physically transfer trays and items up to 40 lbs
  • Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory standards
  • Maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • Provide high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves, floors, and removing debris
  • Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining product rotation and discarding outdated items
  • Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
  • Operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed
  • Answer phones and take special orders
