Operating over 215 stores across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, BGC includes five distinctive banners: Brookshire's Grocery Company, Super 1 Foods, Spring Market, Fresh by Brookshire's, and Reasor's. This wide network enables BGC to serve a diverse customer base, delivering quality food products and exceptional service at multiple neighborhood locations. The company prides itself on fostering a culture where employees are valued not only for their contributions but also for their personal growth and well-being.
The position of Bakery Associate at Brookshire Grocery Company is a vital role within the store operations team aimed at maintaining the quality and appeal of the bakery department. This full-time or part-time role involves packaging, labeling, and pricing bakery products while ensuring high standards of stock management and product freshness. Associates working in the bakery help to maintain stock levels through diligent monitoring of product expiration dates, appearance, and storage conditions like temperature control, which are critical to food safety and customer satisfaction. The role also requires excellent communication skills to engage with customers effectively, answer inquiries, and provide friendly customer service both in person and over the phone.
In addition, Bakery Associates assist with preparing bakery items and organizing product displays to promote sales using suggestive selling techniques. Teamwork is an essential component of the job, as associates collaborate closely with bakery personnel to ensure the bakery operates smoothly and efficiently, meeting the company’s quality control and safety standards. Safety is a high priority, and the role demands strict adherence to hygiene practices, proper handling of food products, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential hazards in the work environment.
BGC supports its associates with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off to promote work-life balance, and a 401(k) plan with company contributions to help employees build a secure future. Unique benefits such as exclusive employee discounts, scholarships for educational advancement, and access to a large outdoor recreation area emphasize the company’s commitment to wellness and community connection. Working at BGC as a Bakery Associate not only provides the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment but also ensures personal and professional growth within a company that values its team members.
By joining the BGC team, individuals become part of an inclusive culture that promotes diversity, equal opportunity, and a drug and alcohol-free workplace. BGC invites candidates who are passionate about food safety, customer service, and teamwork to embark on a rewarding career path where their efforts are recognized and their future possibilities are limitless.
