The Bakery Clerk position at Hy-Vee is a non-exempt role focused on contributing to the bakery department's daily operations. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality and availability of bakery products, ensuring customer satisfaction and a positive store environment. The bakery clerk is responsible for reviewing daily orders, preparing and replenishing products efficiently while providing friendly and helpful customer service. Job Requirements

  • less than high school education or equivalent experience
  • six months or less of similar or related work experience
  • ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions
  • ability to do simple addition and subtraction
  • ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
  • must be able to physically perform medium work exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly
  • must have the ability to perform physical activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
  • visual clarity for distances more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet with or without correction
  • must adhere to company personal hygiene and dress standards
  • employment contingent upon successful pre-employment drug screen
