Job Requirements

  • Ability to work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to push and pull approximately 100 lb of product on racks
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs chest high
  • Conduct visual inspections and follow production guides and logs
  • Operate kitchen utensils and equipment with manual dexterity
  • Maintain composure with customers and co-workers
  • Reach overhead to place products on racks
  • Stand, walk and move rapidly for extended periods
  • Bend, stoop, balance, crouch, push, pull, lift, grasp, perform repetitive movement and reach frequently
  • Handle bakery ingredients safely
  • Perform basic math
  • Perform duties with mental alertness to hazards
  • Respond to audible timers
  • Work around equipment emitting heat of approximately 465 degrees
  • Follow safety and sanitation procedures
  • Use cleaning chemicals and handle food products
  • Perform duties with efficiency and accuracy
  • Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
  • Wear required personal protective equipment
  • Check labels and packaging of products
  • Communicate effectively in speech and writing
  • Work in a team-oriented environment with customer service focus
  • Operate kitchen utensils with speed and accuracy
  • Demonstrate knowledge of product content, perishability and regulations
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Food handlers certification per state laws

  • Experience in bakery or food production preferred
  • Knowledge of bakery equipment and procedures
  • Ability to follow recipes and production guides

Job Duties

  • Seek opportunities to welcome, engage, serve and thank customers

  • Produce bakery products for retail stores
  • Operate and clean equipment and work area
  • Maintain clean, safe and sanitary bakery area and equipment
  • Package fresh products following packaging and handling procedures
  • Ensure quality of goods by following code
  • Mix icing or other toppings by scaling and measuring ingredients
  • Dump icing or toppings into storage containers
  • Set up cakes by icing and layering
  • Ice cakes with decorations and borders
  • Package cakes by placing in boxes
  • Label bakery items using DiGi machine
  • Display products on shelves using FIFO rotation
  • Take orders by phone and in person
  • Personalize cakes with customer messages
  • Face merchandise
  • Provide fast, friendly customer service
  • Engage in suggestive selling in person and via intercom
  • Display goods following proper procedures
  • Assist customers with special inquiries and orders
  • Ensure quality by following code dating and labeling procedures
  • Maintain inventory and production sheets
  • Produce breads and rolls by mixing recipes and operating machines
  • Clean work area thoroughly
  • Produce croissants by folding, proofing and baking
  • Open and close bakery according to procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
