Job Requirements

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • possess 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent education and experience
  • be dependable and able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • demonstrate friendly and outgoing behavior
  • have good communication skills
  • be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • perform department housekeeping duties
  • be able to use bakery equipment safely
  • have physical capability to stand for long periods and handle moderate weight
  • comply with safety, health, and regulatory standards
  • maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Qualifications

  • have 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • be able to take direction and participate effectively in a team environment
  • perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department
  • operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • accurately weigh and label products using scales and weight measures
  • be physically capable of standing for prolonged periods and transferring trays and items of varying weight
  • adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • provide a high level of customer service while ensuring bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves, products, floors, and removing hazardous debris
  • stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while checking product rotation and discarding outdated items
  • receive, inspect, and log bakery products ensuring shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality
  • interact with customers in a fast paced environment
  • answer phones and take special orders
