Job Requirements

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years bakery experience or relevant education and experience
  • dependability and reliability
  • ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • outgoing and friendly demeanor
  • good communication skills
  • ability to answer phones and take special orders
  • ability to perform general housekeeping and sanitation
  • knowledge and operation of bakery equipment
  • physical ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously for 8-hour shifts
  • ability to transfer trays and items weighing up to 40 lbs without mechanical assistance
  • adherence to safety and health regulations
  • maintain Food Handlers permit

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years bakery experience or acceptable combination of education and experience
  • dependable and reliable with ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • outgoing and friendly behavior with positive attitude
  • good communication skills
  • ability to take direction and participate in a team environment
  • ability to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, and hand trucks
  • ability to stand for extended periods and handle physical tasks
  • adherence to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • possession of a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • provide a high level of customer service and ensure that bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves, floors, and removing hazardous debris
  • stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of bakery products and discarding outdated items
  • receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
  • answer phones and take special orders
  • perform general housekeeping and sanitation of the bakery department area
