Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess 1-2 years of bakery experience or equivalent education
  • Be dependable and reliable with flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Have outgoing, friendly behavior and positive attitude
  • Possess good communication skills
  • Be able to take direction and participate in a team environment
  • Be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping in the department including cleaning and sanitizing work area
  • Be able to operate bakery equipment and tools
  • Be physically capable to stand for up to 8 hours and lift items up to 40 lbs as required
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • Maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have 1-2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrate dependability and reliability with ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
  • Possess good communication skills and ability to take direction and work in a team environment
  • Be able to operate bakery tools such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Maintain and achieve a Food Handlers permit
  • Be able to stand for extended periods and handle physical lifting requirements

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • Provide a high level of customer service ensuring bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation of the bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves, floors, and removing hazardous debris
  • Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy of bakery products while examining rotation and discarding outdated items
  • Receive, inspect, and log product shipments for accuracy, temperature, and quality
  • Answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the bakery area
