Job Requirements
- Possession of a valid Food Handler Card or equivalent certification
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and product information
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to lift regularly up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds
- Willingness to stand, walk, and kneel throughout the work shift
- Ability to follow detailed but routine oral and written instructions
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced grocery store environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior customer service experience preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend product labels, instructions, and memos
- Basic writing skills for simple correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group settings
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Basic computer skills including PC and Outlook preferred
- Retail management certificate is a plus
Job Duties
- Provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service to bakery customers
- Assist customers with bakery purchases and special orders
- Clean shelving, display cases, and self-serve bakery displays
- Fill and rotate bakery products to ensure freshness
- Collaborate with the Baker to determine baking and decorating needs
- Hose down and clean bakery floors and maintain department cleanliness
- Comply with food safety regulations and handle food with proper certification
