Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior bakery experience preferred
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Capability to lift and handle baking ingredients up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate baking ovens and equipment safely
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards
  • Good physical stamina to work in a busy environment

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a bakery chef or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques and equipment
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and health department regulations
  • Ability to follow complex recipes and production procedures
  • Good organizational and inventory management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Job Duties

  • Prepare and bake a wide variety of baked goods including bread, cakes, cookies, pastries, pies, and other specialty items
  • Operate ovens and other baking equipment ensuring correct temperatures and perfect baking
  • Monitor ingredient inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
  • Clean and sanitize baking equipment, workstations, and utensils to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
  • Regularly inspect baked goods for quality ensuring they meet the bakery’s standards in appearance, texture, and taste
