Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months or less of related work experience
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds with team assistance
- Ability to perform physical activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- Vision capable of seeing less than 20 inches and more than 20 feet with or without correction
- Ability to handle pressure to meet deadlines and multiple priorities
- Willingness to work daytime shifts
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
- Ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Ability to file, post, mail materials, copy data, and interview to obtain basic information
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Knowledge of proper sanitation procedures
Job Duties
- Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions
- Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner
- Make an effort to learn customers’ names and address them by name whenever possible
- Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach products, loading/unloading heavy items, and enhancing the shopping experience
- Answer the telephone promptly and take product orders
- Take customer orders at bakery counter
- Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
- Check orders for the day and set up a timeline and production schedule
- Decorate bakery items in a timely manner
- Keep current on new designs and trends
- Ensure department standards are met
- Check cake orders for details and indicate supply needs
- Order supplies for decorating area and check off orders
- Deliver product and set up wedding cakes on site
- Communicate with bakery manager regarding displays, weekly ads and special needs
- Check product dates and list items to fill or replace
- Develop bakery orders for bakers daily
- Track daily retail production and identify tasks
- Operate as lead worker with part-time employees
- Participate in employee cross training
- Practice proper sanitation procedures and maintain a clean work area
- Adhere to company policies and store guidelines
- Report to work punctually when scheduled
