Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent preferred but not required
- minimum of three years experience in full bakery operations and procedures or equivalent combination of education and experience
- health department training required
- ability to calculate percentages and ratios when measuring ingredients
- ability to hear, speak, and understand spoken word to respond promptly to pages, accommodate verbal requests and communicate effectively
- ability to read, write, and understand English effectively preferred
- ability to fill out forms and compose reports
- thoroughly knowledgeable with baking procedures including safety and health considerations
- physical ability to sit, stand, handle objects and tools routinely
- occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
- ability to perform routine cleaning and maintenance
- vision acuity to read and analyze invoices and documents
- ability to climb ladders
- capability to tolerate dust, chemical fumes, and work in refrigerated and heated environments
- ability to respond quickly to emergencies
Job Qualifications

- ability to fill out forms and write reports
- thorough knowledge of baking methods and safety and health considerations
Job Duties
- Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance and observe company dress regulations
- assist in receiving and unloading of merchandise, checking and verifying vendor invoices
- keep bakery ingredients and merchandise rotated following first in, first out policy
- observe shift operating hours as scheduled
- control excessive use of utilities and water and follow conservation practices
- maintain general housekeeping and cleaning program complying with health regulations
- check refrigeration equipment at least once per shift
- report maintenance or equipment problems immediately
- use and maintain bakery equipment properly
- prepare dough and scratch baking mixtures according to procedures and recipes
- pan frozen products and round bread
- mix and ice sweet rolls, breads, and cookies, adding toppings as needed
- operate mixer, Moline sheeter, and scale cakes and cupcakes
- assist in ordering and inventory control of ingredients and supplies
- handle damaged and spoiled products according to policy
- record invoices and place documents securely
- record markups, markdowns, and spoilage in accordance with policies
- monitor product sales to optimize production and minimize stale products
- adhere to health and safety regulations including packaging requirements
- perform other related duties as assigned
- maintain good communication within the department and organization
- assist in training associates and coworkers
- notify management of personnel or policy issues that affect performance or require disciplinary action
- greet customers when encountered
- observe security standards and report abnormal behavior
- complete Axonify safety training
- comply with company compliance initiatives
- use required safety equipment
- follow all safety rules
