Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent preferred
- Minimum three years of experience in bakery operations
- Health department training required
- Ability to calculate ingredient measurements accurately
- Strong communication skills in English
- Capability to read and comprehend safety and operational instructions
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform routine cleaning
- Ability to work in cold and hot environments
- Willingness to complete baker assessment testing
- Commitment to safety rules and use of personal protective equipment
- Ability to tolerate exposure to bakery ingredients and cleaning agents
- Must pass pre-employment drug test
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent preferred
- Minimum three years of experience in full bakery operations and procedures or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Health department training required
- Ability to calculate percentages and ratios when measuring ingredients
- Effective verbal communication skills to respond to pages, customer requests, and coordinate with coworkers and supervisors
- Ability to read, write, and understand English effectively
- Knowledge of operating bakery equipment and safety and health considerations
- Ability to fill out forms and compose reports
- Thorough familiarity with baking tasks and procedures
Job Duties
- Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance and observe company dress regulations
- Assist in receiving and unloading merchandise
- Rotate bakery ingredients and merchandise according to store policy and product code dates
- Observe shift operating hours as scheduled
- Control excessive use of utilities and follow conservation practices
- Maintain general housekeeping and cleaning program in compliance with health regulations
- Check refrigeration equipment for proper performance
- Report maintenance or equipment issues immediately
- Prepare dough and baking mixtures following company procedures and recipes
- Pan and shape bread and frozen products
- Mix and ice sweet rolls, sweet breads, and cookies
- Operate ovens and related bakery equipment according to specific baking temperatures and times
- Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory control
- Handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy
- Record invoice documents and markups accurately
- Monitor product sales to optimize production and minimize stale products
- Adhere to local, state, and federal health and safety regulations
- Perform any other assigned work-related duties
- Maintain good communication within the department and organization
- Assist in training associates and coworkers
- Report personnel and policy issues to management
- Greet customers as appropriate
- Observe security standards and report abnormal behavior
- Complete mandatory training such as Axonify
- Comply with company compliance initiatives
- Use required safety equipment
- Follow all safety rules
