Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
- Ability to reach, carry, push and perform repetitive movements
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions including indoor, outdoor, cold, freezing, heated and wet or humid environments
- Strong attention to safety compliance
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Spanish language skills preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 0-3 years relevant experience preferred
- Strong customer service skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
- Ability to operate bakery equipment such as slicer, oven, scale, knives, box cutter and pricing gun
- Ability to work varied shifts
Job Duties
- Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated
- Deliver daily conditions that meet the companys expectations for at shelf product availability, freshness, quality and value
- Offer product samples, answer product questions and offer customers assistance
- Ensure customer requests and special orders are fulfilled
- Promote trust and respect among associates by collaborating, promoting teamwork and communicating company, department, and job specific information
- Maintain awareness of inventory and report any discrepancies
- Review and inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action with those items
- Prepare, package, label and display products for sale
- Utilize production planning tools to produce fresh products accurately and reduce shrink
- Ensure product is held at the proper temperature per food safety guidelines and document temperature logs per policy
- Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation and productivity are maintained
- Adhere to all regulatory compliance requirements, execute product recalls and withdrawals in a timely manner
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and inspect and identify unsafe conditions
- Notify management of accidents and report all safety risks, issues, and illegal activity
- Ensure adherence to wage and hour policies and regulations
- Ensure all associates are working safely and have received necessary safety training
- Assist with remediation of safety hazards and ensure equipment is in good repair
