This includes preparation, packaging, labeling, and proper display of bakery products. Effective use of production planning tools helps optimize product output while minimizing waste and shrinkage. Temperature control and documentation according to food safety policies are mandatory to ensure product integrity.\n\nSafety and compliance form a vital part of the responsibilities. The Bakery Associate must maintain sanitation standards, carry out safety inspections, report any unsafe conditions or incidents, and ensure all associates are properly trained on safety procedures. Use of personal protective equipment and adherence to equipment maintenance policies is required to reduce workplace hazards. The role requires physical stamina, as it involves standing, walking, lifting, and working in various environmental conditions such as cold or wet areas.\n\nThis position offers varied shifts to accommodate business needs, and while travel is occasional, it does not include overnight stays. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
  • Ability to reach, carry, push and perform repetitive movements
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions including indoor, outdoor, cold, freezing, heated and wet or humid environments
  • Strong attention to safety compliance
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Spanish language skills preferred

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 0-3 years relevant experience preferred
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
  • Ability to operate bakery equipment such as slicer, oven, scale, knives, box cutter and pricing gun
  • Ability to work varied shifts

Job Duties

  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated
  • Deliver daily conditions that meet the companys expectations for at shelf product availability, freshness, quality and value
  • Offer product samples, answer product questions and offer customers assistance
  • Ensure customer requests and special orders are fulfilled
  • Promote trust and respect among associates by collaborating, promoting teamwork and communicating company, department, and job specific information
  • Maintain awareness of inventory and report any discrepancies
  • Review and inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action with those items
  • Prepare, package, label and display products for sale
  • Utilize production planning tools to produce fresh products accurately and reduce shrink
  • Ensure product is held at the proper temperature per food safety guidelines and document temperature logs per policy
  • Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation and productivity are maintained
  • Adhere to all regulatory compliance requirements, execute product recalls and withdrawals in a timely manner
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and inspect and identify unsafe conditions
  • Notify management of accidents and report all safety risks, issues, and illegal activity
  • Ensure adherence to wage and hour policies and regulations
  • Ensure all associates are working safely and have received necessary safety training
  • Assist with remediation of safety hazards and ensure equipment is in good repair
