Job Requirements

Must be 18 years of age
Authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain the same
Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
Strong customer service skills
Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
Ability to operate bakery equipment such as slicers, ovens, scales, knives, box cutters and pricing guns according to company guidelines

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred
0-3 years of relevant experience
Strong customer service skills
Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
Ability to operate bakery equipment such as slicers, ovens, scales, knives, box cutters and pricing guns according to company guidelines
Ability to work varied shifts
Ability to follow safety and food handling procedures
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Job Duties

Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated
Deliver daily conditions meeting company expectations for product availability, freshness, quality and value
Offer product samples, answer product questions and assist customers in finding or suggesting products
Ensure customer requests and special orders are fulfilled
Promote trust and respect among associates by collaborating, promoting teamwork and communicating company and job-specific information
Maintain awareness of inventory and stocking conditions, report discrepancies
Review and inspect product quality and freshness, take appropriate action
Prepare, package, label and display products for sale
Utilize production planning tools to produce fresh products accurately, follow discard and markdown processes to reduce shrink
Ensure product is held at proper temperatures following food safety guidelines and retain temperature logs
Maintain company standards for safety, food handling, sanitation and productivity
Adhere to regulatory compliance requirements including USDA and COOL guidelines
Execute product recalls and withdrawals timely, securing and removing items from customer access
Reinforce safety programs by complying with procedures and reporting unsafe conditions
Notify management of customer or employee accidents
Report safety risks, illegal activities including robbery, theft or fraud
Ensure wage and hour policies and regulations compliance
Cultivate a culture of safety ensuring all associates work safely and receive necessary training
Ensure hazardous assessments are posted and personal protective equipment is used
Maintain equipment in good repair and report safety hazards
