Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand, stroll, or stay seated for an extended time
  • Ability to lift, bear, propel, or drag loads up to 25 lbs unaided
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, and stoop with arms extended overhead and towards the knees
  • Ability to work on slippery or irregular terrains, including ramps and staircases
  • Basic knowledge of baking processes and kitchen safety procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized recipes and presentation standards

Job Qualifications

  • Achieving a high school diploma or its GED substitutions
  • Less than 12 months of relevant experience in baking, pastry, or kitchen-related tasks is desired
  • No licenses or certifications required
  • Prior supervision roles are not mandatory

Job Duties

  • Conform to standardized recipes and presentation standards while preparing and baking pastries, breads, and desserts
  • Carry out the measurement, mixing, allotment, and organization of ingredients for the daily baking tasks
  • Properly maintain and operate baking machinery and tools with safety precautions in mind
  • Watch the operation of ovens and kitchen tools to make sure the proper cooking times and temperatures are followed
  • Abide by food safety and sanitation procedures that include proper food storage, personal cleanliness, and ensuring the kitchen remains clean
  • Conform to kitchen guidelines for workstation setup and dismantling
  • Ensure that food quality and consistency are consistent in every batch prepared throughout the shift
  • Sustain a hygienic, secure, and systematically arranged bakery/kitchen environment to facilitate smooth operations
  • Conduct oneself professionally when communicating with colleagues and guests as necessary
  • Be there for your colleagues and contribute to a harmonious team atmosphere
  • Engage in other tasks and responsibilities as required by superiors
