Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of baking experience
  • Ability to produce all aspects of bake shop including pastries, wedding cakes, and specialty items
  • Working knowledge of weights and measures
  • Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment and supplies, including toasters, refrigerators, coolers, slicers, beverage machines, mixers, VCR, and small wares
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepare dishes, follow recipes, and yield guides
  • Assist in decorating cakes and pastries
  • Maintain solid menu knowledge and attention to detail with plate presentation
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
  • Ensure all requisitions are processed properly and placed in the designated area
  • Properly label and date products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation
  • Set up and break down the workstation
  • Regularly run for food and restock all kitchen supplies and food items required for service
  • Communicate, direct, and assist management, chef, and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and employees
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested
